He was surely a man that played the rich man's game. But the rich man met a man that could see through him and his wicked ways!
Jesus looks at the man in verse 21 and begins to test him by telling him, "Go, sell everything you have and give it all to the poor, and you will have a treasure in heaven, Then come, follow me,
I believe in this verse Jesus is telling him to repent of his ways and give back what you have taken and then come with me.
22 At this, the man's face fell. He went away sad because he had great wealth.
23 Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!"
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone rich to enter the kingdom of God."
This story is clearly for those that are dishonest in business. Those that would sell out a brother or sister to steal their inheritance. Or a swindler that cons someone out of a lot of money to make a big profit. Or like I said an employer that cheats their employees out of their wages.
Mark 8:36 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
1 John 2:17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
If you are that employer that has cheated your employees out of their wages. Or you didn’t pay a contractor for the hard work they did on your property. Or maybe you’re that sister or brother that cheated your sibling out of their inheritance. Jesus is speaking to you right now to make things right, by giving back what you have taken! It’s not worth losing your soul!
You need to tell that person that you are sorry and make things right! This maybe your last chance!
