God sent us the Holy Spirit to comfort us and seal the deal. The Holy Spirit is like his personal shadow that directs us when we’re headed in the wrong direction or in trouble. It’s a babysitter of higher authority to watch over and discipline his royal children. It’s his gentle voice that guides troubled children from the storm they’ve caught themselves in. It’s the hand that reaches for the lost and sinking. The Holy Spirit is like a lighthouse where ships can find their way in darkness. It’s a soft gentle voice instructing a lost child how to find their way back home again. It’s the spirit that whispers telling the seasons to change, and they change. It’s the spirit that comes to meet you wherever you are, it never says too far. It’s the Spirit of truth, knowledge and love. It’s the spirit of power and authority that was deposited inside of us allowing us the same inheritance as Jesus Christ himself. I thank God for the Holy Spirit that came to my rescue! Isn’t it awesome to know that we have a Father that loves us so much that he sends his royal babysitter? That just makes me want too, AH!
Galatians 5: 16 So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. 17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. 18 But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the Law of Moses.
When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
1Thessalonians 5: 19 Quench not the Spirit.
1Thessalonians 5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Galatians : 22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. 25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. 26 Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.
Ephesians 4: 29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
30And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
