Jesus tells us as soon as the physical body dies the spiritual body departs. He explained death as sleeping. He says, "She is not dead bust asleep. I hope that all of you that are asleep and don't get this that the light goes off in your head. We have (2) bodies the physical body and the spiritual body. When the physical body dies it goes into a sleep where the spiritual body steps into the judgment of our beliefs. This is where and when, it's decided where your spiritual body will live through eternity. While you were alive in your physical body you enjoyed the earthly things of life. But once your spiritual body leaves your physical body you're reunited with the ones from your life, those that made it to heaven. But mostly, your spiritual body is now an eternal living vessel created to worship and love God the Creator. There are more chapters to be written about your life amd how you spend eternity. Don't waste another minute, hour or day. Understand who you are and what you were created for to live an eternal life with Jesus Christ.
How beautiful to think we will be reunited with the ones we loved. This is God's promise to us that we have hope that we are differen't than unbelievers.
1Thessalonians 4:13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
John 8:51 Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death.
As a mother that had to bury a daughter, that outlived a child this gives me comfort to know that beyond grief is hope! I reall don't know how unbelivers make it when tragedy hits! I don't know what I would've done if Jesus hadn't showed up and said to me. "Woman, why do you grieve for that which has eternal life?" I grieved for the years that my life would be empty not having her in my life. I grieved the missed conversations and the things that we would do as a family. I grieved my lost time with her, but now that I look ahead. I see that my grief is only temporarily. I will have a chance to spend eternity with her. and this life now will just be a skipped breath. That when we come face to face, I will be able to tell her how much I love her! And she will look at me and I will see the answer in her eyes, because he loved me first we are here together atlast!
