Acts 13:10 “You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord?
Trick or Treat?
When Satan wanted to destroy Samson he used Samson’s weakness of a beautiful Philistine woman. He used beauty and trickery to try to find out Samson’s secret to his hidden strength that was gifted to him by God at birth. Delilah a Philistine prostitute was purposely planted by the Philistines in Samson’s life to destroy him. She was offered silver to find out the truth. She studied him inside out. She wouldn’t give up until she knew the secret to his strength. She seduced him in ways that Samson had never known or experienced. She weakened Samson to his knees. And finally, after Samson lied to her three times he surrendered to her seduction. When she realized Samson had finally caved in. She first weakened him by cutting his seven long braids, and then his eyes were gouged out by the Philistines one by one until he was permanently blind. Delilah would be the last beautiful female face that would be embedded into Samson’s memory.
Her soft whispering teasing seductive voice would be the last female voice he would remember. Samson would remember the God that gave him the strength to slay giants and the woman that weakened him bringing him to his knees by cutting off his hair.
Judges 16:18 When Delilah saw that he had told her everything, she sent word to the rulers of the Philistines, “Come back once more; He has told me everything.” So the rulers of the Philistines returned with the silver in their hands. 19 After putting him to sleep on her lap, she called for someone to shave off the seven braids of his hair, and so began to subdue him. And his strength left him. 20 Then she called, “Samson, the Philistines are upon you!” He awoke from his sleep and thought, “I’ll go out as before and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the Lord had left him.
Judges 16:21 Then the Philistines seized him, gouged out his eyes and took him down to Gaza. Binding him with bronze shackles, they set him to grinding grain in the prison. 22 But the hair on his head began to grow again after it had been shaved.
Little did the Philistines know that Samson’s strength would return and God would have the victory in the end.
Judges 16:23 Now the rulers of the Philistines assembled to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god and to celebrate, saying, “Our god has delivered Samson, our enemy, into our hands.” 24 When the people saw him, they praised their god saying, “Our god has delivered our enemy into our hands, the one who laid waste our land and multiplied our slain.” 25 While they were in high spirits, they shouted. “Bring out Samson to entertain us.” So they called Samson out of the prison, and he performed for them. When they stood him among the pillars. 26 Samson said to the servant who held his hand, “Put me where I can feel the pillars that support the temple, so that I may lean against them.” 27 Now the temple was crowded with men and women; all the rulers of the Philistines were there and on the roof about three thousand men and women watching Samson perform. 28 Then Samson prayed to the Lord, “Sovereign Lord, remember me. Please, God, strengthen me just once more and let me with one blow get revenge on the Philistines for my two eyes.” 29 Then Samson reached toward the two central pillars on which the temple stood. Bracing himself against them, his right hand on the one and his left hand on the other.
Trick or Treat?
Judges 16:30 Samson said. “Let me die with the Philistines!” Then he pushed with all his might, and down came the temple on the rulers and all the people in it. Thus he killed many more when he died than while he lived.
God had the last say and granted Samson one more time to victory killing more Philistines at his death then he did when he was alive and fighting.
Proverbs 2:16 Wisdom will save you also from the adulterous woman, from the wayward woman with her seductive words.
Matthew 4:10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me Satan! For it is written: “Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.”
Exodus 20:3 "You shall have no other gods before me. 4 "You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
How many men have been brought down by a wayward woman?
She lures men with her seductive voice.
She picks her man by choice.
Until he thinks she’s the only woman.
And then she sticks him sharper than with a blade where he wished he was a woman.
That never had eyes on such a woman.
He finds out too late that she’s no angel woman.
And he’s too weak of a man to resist such a woman.
She’s a devil’s woman!
That no man or beast can tame.
She's as hot as a smoking cindering flame!
