I remember the first job I got when I was younger working at a gas station. I thought it was so cool that I had my first job. I learned how to work the register and make change. It was before registers told you how much change to give back. At that time we just used an old cash box and figured it in our heads. I still remember that couple that took the time to train and teach me that I had self-worth.
The times sure have changed. I remember my mom buying me one pair of jeans for school and I had to wash them every night before the next day of school. Kids now have a pair of clothes for each day. I was grateful for anything that I got back then. At Christmas time there weren’t a lot of gifts under our tree, we all got new pajamas and slippers. I would get one doll from Santa, and that stopped when I quit believing in Santa Claus. Nothing like it is today! Where kids expect so much and they aren’t grateful for what they get. But they always compare themselves to what others have or get. If I would have compared all the time, I would have been depressed all the time.
Philippians 4:12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
Maybe, we should work more on humbling our children than giving them everything in the world.
It soumds like we're creating our own monsters that are coming out of the closets.
We have to work on getting rid of the word entitlement!
When we traveled to Israel I asked them if they had welfare there they said no, here you work until you drop dead. There’s no retirement setup there’s no welfare. They fight to have clean sheets on their beds.

Father God, I ask in the name of Jesus Christ that you teach us how to be good parents to our children and show them love and discipline at the same time. We have so many children that are full of anger and resentment. Show them your love, Jesus! Show them your Love, Jesus! We love and worship you with all of our hearts, minds, and souls.
