I had a beautiful daughter.
And, she told me one day.
Mom, they now make meth that tastes like candy.
Mom, they now have meth that’s loaded with vitamin B12.
Mom, they now have meth that tastes like bubblegum.
Mom, she said, you should try it.
It's a great way to lose weight.
I looked at her and said. "There was no way that I would ever try it.
I can’t even take prescription drugs without having a side effect.
Anyone that knows me, knows that."
I asked my daughter if she was addicted.
"No," she said.
Her doctor prescribed her Methadone so she couldn't get addicted if she tried.
But, it was a few weeks later that her husband canceled her on his insurance and she could no longer get her prescription of Methadone.
And she was sweating.
Her life was now tumbling.
Everything was spiraling.
This is how the enemy works.
He gets you comfortable in your life of sin.
And then, he takes you.
I had no idea what meth was.
I never tried it.
I never was interested in it.
It wasn’t until I started noticing her weight loss and the sores on her face.
I asked her why she ever started, and she said. Her neighbor got her to try it. She came over one day and she was bored. So she tried it.
I looked at her and said. "You don't do drugs because you're bored with life. Get a hobby or something." I didn't understand how she could be bored with four kids.
It was just a few days before she died that we were able to lead her to God’s forgiveness and grace.
You see, meth took my daughter.
My grandchildren no longer have a mother.
And I no longer have her as a daughter.
And it’s been twelve years now since my oldest daughter died.
And there are days, I still cry for my daughter.
When I spoke to the state medical examiner, he said. "Meth stays in your brain forever.
They may consume your body years from now and the meth is still there forever."
There’s a shame when a mother buries her daughter knowing that meth was in her brain forever.
There’s a shame to her children that find out what took their mother.
I'm telling you today. If you’re addicted, get the counseling now, so no mother or father ever has to bury their child.
My daughter died the day before her birthday.
She went to sleep one night and never woke up.
The meth had messed up her heart.
It was easier for me to say that she died from her broken heart.
Her heart was broken.
She lost her nursing license.
She had just lost custody of her children.
She was lost and broken.
And it all started, by a new neighbor moving into the neighborhood and introducing her to Meth.
But, Jesus was there to welcome her into his kingdom.
Jesus will forgive you too. You just need to ask for forgiveness. And tell him that you want him to be the Lord of your life from this day forward.
And he can forgive you!.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
