There's nothing like working with God.
Exodus 17: 7 And he called the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarreled and because they tested the Lord saying, “Is the Lord among us or not?”
Exodus 17:1 The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, traveling from place to place as the Lord commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink. 2 So they quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water to drink.” Moses replied, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the Lord to the test?” 3 But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?” 4 Then Moses cried out to the Lord, “What am I to do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me.” 5 The Lord answered Moses, “Go out in front of the people. Take with you some elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go. 6 I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel. 7 And he called the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarreled and because they tested the Lord saying. “Is the Lord among us or not?”
When the enemy the devil came at Jesus with Psalm 91 tempting him. Jesus quickly came back with verse
Deuteronomy 6:16 Do not put the Lord your God to the test as you did at Massah. NIV
Deuteronomy 6:16 Ye shall not tempt the Lord your God, as ye tempted him in Massah. KJV
Jesus remembered what happened at Massah when the Israelites tested God. The devil remembered it as well because he was there too.
He remembered how angry God was at the Israelites that he had rescued from slavery in Egypt.
The Israelites were so ungrateful that they wished they had never left Egypt. They constantly quarreled and grumbled with Moses. They said to Moses in Exodus 17 verse 3 “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?”
The Israelites had no faith in God. They continually tested Moses and God. We studied in Matthew 4:1-11 how Satan used the word of God to tempt Jesus.
Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” 4 Jesus answered. “It is written: “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” 3 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 ‘If you are the Son of God,’ he said, ‘throw yourself down. For it is written:’ He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’ 7 Jesus answered him, “it is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’ 8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.9 ‘All this I will give you,’ he said. “If you will bow down and worship me.’ 10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.” 11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
Deuteronomy 6:13 Fear the Lord your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name. 14 Do not follow other gods, the gods of the people around you; 15 for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land.
If Satan will use the word of God to tempt and test Jesus do you really think he won’t do the same with you?
Satan’s offense again, tested Jesus with verse Matthew 4:3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” 4 Jesus answered. “It is written: “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
Jesus’ defense was Deuteronomy 8:3 He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
Jesus taught us to defeat the devil the enemy we have to have our own defense and that defense is the word of God. I think this is what made the temptations so great in the desert for Jesus was that the enemy was using the word of God to try to confuse and implant negative ideas.
He will put those ideas in your head. Where is God? Why hasn’t God moved yet? What has God done for you lately? Satan will attack your mind and your faith.
Satan uses the word against us that's why it's so important that we stay grounded in the word of God. He used the word of God three times against Jesus to try to manipulate and confuse.
1.) 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
2.) 6 ‘If you are the Son of God,’ he said, ‘throw yourself down. For it is written:’ He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’
3.)8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.9 ‘All this I will give you,’ he said. “If you will bow down and worship me.’
Jesus always came back with a strong comeback using the word of God. He used the experience of the Israelites in the desert that carved out fake images of false gods. I believe he used this illustration because Satan wanted him to worship him. And he used the experience of the Israelites that rebelled against God and never made it to the promised land.
1.) 4 Jesus answered. “It is written: “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
2.)7 Jesus answered him, “it is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’
3.)10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.”
We Have to have a powerful defense too! What verses will you use as your defense against the enemy?
We have to be so careful that we don’t become like the ungrateful Israelites that allowed Satan to take over and dismissed everything that God had done for them.
I think it’s when we reach that point in our lives and think, what has God done for me lately that he makes things tougher for us so we see just what all he does do for us. It’s when we keep praising him that we see him move us forward. And we see the true blessings of God!
I often wonder what would’ve happened to the Israelites if they would’ve had a different attitude towards God.
If they had been thankful instead of resentful.
So remember the next time that you are tested praise God using the word of God just like Jesus did!
Zechariah 13:9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.
I remember we brought a girl into our home that wouldn't accept Jesus Christ as her Savior. She would steal things or destroy things and leave a Bible verse behind that she was a child of darkness.
Job 24:14 When daylight is gone, the murderer rises up, kills the poor and needy, and in the night steals forth like a thief.
This is more proof that the enemy uses the word of God to use against us! We must stay sharp.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Father God, I ask that you forgive us for ever doubting or testing our faith in you! We believe that you are our creator of heaven and earth and you God provide all of our needs and we are so grateful for all that you do and how you move in our lives, moving obstacles out of the way and opening doors for us to walk through. We praise you and worship you giving you all the glory and honor in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2 Timothy 1:14 Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you-guard it with help of the Holy Spirit who lives in you.
Genesis 1:27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
I believe the Apostle Paul with his intellect at the time was trying his best to describe the magnitude of God. The God he saw as Jesus Christ. He worded his letters in such a way that would in time reveal the truth to what he was writing. The veil would be removed and the world would see from its own studies of DNA and how it actually works.
We see examples now through present time how a person’s DNA’s ability to track serial killers, murderers, rapists and even be able to identify dormant diseases that are waiting to be unleashed to be woken up. I even read recently where DNA test could identify who the mother or father was from a simple saliva swab test.
2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
See, I believe at birth that we are all given God’s DNA but I don’t believe it’s activated until we have faith. I believe this is how God sees into the heart of the pure and wicked. I believe this is how the DNA of cancer cells are changed through faith. This is part of our master wiring that God has personally implanted in us from the Creator.
We are directly wired to the Spirit of Christ. We are equal heirs of Jesus Christ. We have the same DNA. We just have to activate it!
You think of every manufacturer that puts their seal or identification on what they have created. It only makes sense that God would put his seal on his creation. If you go buy an Apple Computer it says Apple, not Dell. God gave every human being on the planet the ability to return back to the creator and to be wired to the creator through his own DNA that’s activated through faith.
James 2:17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
If we don’t receive Christ we’re dead.
John 3:6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to Spirit.
Jesus Christ is life as soon as we accept him as our Savior, God’s DNA is activated turned on like a light bulb inside of us. That DNA becomes stronger and stronger as we show our faith. The light gets brighter and brighter.
John 12:46 I have come into the world as a light so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.
Acts 3:16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can see.
The God DNA through Jesus performed miracles on earth. As it did through his disciples and apostles.
We are wired with that same God DNA.
Ephesians 1:13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,
2 Timothy 2:19 Netherless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."
This is how you activate the God DNA.
You accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and confess that you are a sinner that needs a Savior. You ask to be forgiven of your sins and confess them all to Jesus.
Your first act of faith. Accepting Jesus Christ is your first step to activating the God DNA implanted inside of you.
1 John 5:4 For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.
Deuteronomy 4:29 But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.
2 Corinthians 5:7 For we live by faith, not by sight.
Hebrews 4:14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.
1 Peter 1:23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring God.
1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin because God's seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God.
Matthew 13:37 He answered, "The one who sowed good seed is the Son of Man.
The God DNA that Heals:
Luke 8:48 Then he said to her, "Daughter your faith has healed you. Go in peace."
Luke 18:42 Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has healed you."
Mark 10:52 "Go," Said Jesus, "your faith has healed you. "Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.
Acts 3:16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.
The Jesus DNA that heals all sicknesses and Diseases
Ephesians 3:16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love 18 may have power together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.
Ephesians 4:10 He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe. 11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
The Apostle Paul is letting us know that a miracle happened when Jesus Christ descended and ascended. He became the Master of the Universe. His fullness reaches every corner of the universe. There’s nothing hidden from God. Our own bodies carry his same DNA. He’s the head of our bodies. Meaning if he is the head, he has dominion over what happens to our bodies. Our bodies belong to Christ. And just as our bodies belong to him so does our current situations. We weren’t created for failure, we were created for greatness through Jesus Christ!
Imagine a giant God that is humanly linked to every living breathing thing in the universe. Our minds are like mini computer files that download the information from the Godhead into our systems and pull it out as we need it. Our brains are wired to God along with our conscience. God the Godhead decides which files need to be downloaded and when. He keeps records of our past and present keeping track of us all with his own DNA implanted in each human being. God was the first one to use DNA he invented it! But his DNA tracking is beyond anything we can fathom or comprehend on earth. It’s much more advanced. I don’t think a science fiction movie could even match its equal.
So why on earth would we ever think that God’s arm is too short to rescue us when we need help? Why would we ever think that he doesn’t know our needs when he’s inside of us? If anything, we need to remember who God is and just how big God is.
Isaiah 50:2 When I came, why was there no one? When I called, why was there no one to answer? Was my arm too short to deliver you? Do I lack the strength to rescue you? By a mere rebuke I dry up the sea, I turn rivers into a desert; their fish rot for lack of water and die of thirst.
There’s nothing too big for God to handle. There’s no obstacle that he can’t move. He commands lightness. He numbers the stars. He created the planets. He created everything so why should we be surprised that God’s DNA is in us all?
1 John 4:12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. 13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us; He has given us of his Spirit.

1 John 3:24 The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us; We know it by the Spirit he gave us.
Colossians 2:9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,
Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and good.
I hope everyone is grasping how big our God is, I think a lot of people see this man walking in and out and around the earth as a time traveler and he gradually gets to you, when he gets to you! Paul is letting us know that our God is so big that his presence fills the whole universe. His omnipresence, omniscience, omnipotence can't be measured. He can be everywhere at once. His love equally fills that same presence.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?
Deuteronomy 4:39 Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other.
Isaiah 66:1 This is what the Lord says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where is my resting place?
And God himself is the one who chooses who will be his apostles, prophets, evangelists, and teachers. He’s the one that equips them and prepares them for that great service. He’s the promoter, not man!
There is no God as big a Jesus Christ! There is no God that compares to the fullness of Jesus Christ!
How great is our God!
1 Thessalonians 3:13 May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.
Psalm 78:49 He unleashed against them his hot anger, his wrath, indignation, and hostility-a band of destroying angels. 50 He prepared a path for his anger; he did not spare them from death but gave them over to the plague, 51 He struck down all the firstborn of Egypt, the firstfruits of manhood in the tents of Ham. 52 But he brought his people out like a flock; he led them like sheep through the wilderness. 53 He guided them safely, so they were unafraid, but the sea engulfed their enemies.
The Apostle Paul warns us against the wrath of God we face when we test him as the Israelites did that wouldn’t listen to Moses in his day. Paul gives us a quick history lesson in 1 Corinthians 10:1 For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. 2 They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. 3 They all ate the same spiritual food 4 and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. 5 Nonetheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the wilderness. 6 Now, these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did. 7 Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.” 8 We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did-and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died. 9 We should not test Christ, as some of them did-and were killed by snakes. 10 And do not grumble, as some of them did-and were killed by the destroying angel. 11 These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come. 12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! 13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will provide a way out so that you can endure it.
We seem to think that we have no accountability for our actions or our sins, but Paul is letting us know otherwise. God has put his boundaries and laws in place and if we cross those boundaries we face consequences of judgment against our actions or nation. How have we crossed those boundaries and laws today? We have allowed other gods to come into our country. We have allowed sexual immorality and same sex marriages. A lot of Americans have the attitude if it feels good do it, and sadly a lot of part-time Christians have the same attitude. Some are shacked up or living with their boyfriends or girlfriends. They aren’t obeying God’s boundaries. Paul is warning us that those that scattered their bodies to the wilderness and committed sexual immorality, God destroyed all twenty-three thousand of them. So why should we think that we have been given a free pass to live a sinful life? We don’t have a pass. He tells us in verse 13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will provide a way out so that you can endure it. As Christians, we should be walking with the full armor of God. We should now have desires of the spiritual things and not of the world. If we get caught up in the desires of the world we face eternal separation from God. No sin is worth eternal separation from God. It doesn’t matter how good it feels! If it’s wrong in God’s eyes’, it’s wrong, it's sin! If you don’t think God gets angry, think again!
Matthew 21:12 Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves.
Jesus was so angry that he became a destroying lion in the temple when he saw how they were using a place of worship to make money by selling goods.
If you are living in sin. I ask right now that you confess your sins and make that commitment to God that you will change the way you are living. Your sin is not only bringing curses to your life, but your sin is bringing disasters and judgment to our country as a whole. Don’t be so naive to think that your sin doesn’t affect us all when it does!
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Hosea 14:4 I will heal their waywardness and love them freely, for my anger has turned away from them.
Exodus 4:8 Then the Lord said, "If they do not believe you or pay attention to the first sign, they may believe the second.
Father God, I accept Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe he is the Son of God that was crucified for my sins. I believe all my sins were nailed to that cross. I ask that you forgive me for all my sins known and unknown. Forgive me, Lord, for crossing your boundaries and not respecting your Word. I will meditate on your word so that I may live a godly life. And I believe through his resurrection and the Holy Spirit that I can overcome the desires of my flesh. I ask Lord that you crucify my flesh and take all these desires away from me and close all the doors that I have opened with my sinful desires and sinful nature. I ask for the renewing of my mind for you to set the boundaries where my mind cannot travel. I thank you, Lord! You are my Savior and I promise from this day forward to bring glory and honor to your name! I ask Lord that you show your mercy and grace and turn your wrath in the other direction. I ask this in Jesus' name.
