God lets us go through problems in life so we learn to trust in him. If we’re always bailed out of trouble through a parent or guardian we never learn to be dependent on God. It’s when we realize that there was no way that this could have happened without the hand of God intervening is when our faith grows. It can be a door opening to a new job. Or it can be praying for healing. Or it can be the death of a friend or family member. Whatever, we’re praying for we can be sure that God hasn’t closed his ears to our cries. It’s in these difficult times when we don’t think that he’s there, that he’s there carrying us through the storm.
I remember when my daughter died. I was so hard hit with grief. I thought I was going to die too, but Jesus showed up. I was persistent on my knees. I was crying out to God and not letting go until I knew that she was in Heaven. I had to have that confirmation that she made it. I repeated bible verses over and over until the answer came.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:38 For I am certain that nothing can separate us from his love: neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers or powers, neither the present nor the future, 39 neither the world above nor the world below — there is nothing in all creation that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Jesus showed up! He came to me with his servant and said woman why do you grieve for that which has eternal life? I felt humbled. He told his servant to go get her. Where is she? He asked the servant. The servant replied. She’s with the children. She’s watching the children. My heart leaped. The servant brought her to me. And Jesus said is this your daughter. Yes, I said. Then he said do you need to speak to her. I said no, my Lord. She’s in heaven with you. He said woman because of your faith. You will be a mother again. He knew everything. He knew about the division of my family. He knew about my other daughter. He knew everything. At that moment, I wanted to live and breathe for him. I wanted to be a kingdom builder. I knew how much he loved me. And, I could hear Tiffani's voice saying momma, I'm sending you a bouquet from Heaven. When the bouquet came in view it was all of her favorite colors pink and purple and each time a flower bloomed, it went off like fireworks. There was a celebration going on in Heaven!
This was the most difficult time of my life had Jesus not shown up, I'm not sure I would have made it. He didn't show up immediately! I had to be persistent in prayer. I prayed for hours on end. I was a mother that wasn't giving up! I had to have that peace!
Today we are foster parents, and I know it’s by the hand of God.
